Rome Prize in Architecture 2010-2011      
Awarded to Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller
The American Academy in Rome awards the prestigious Rome Prize to a selected group of artists and scholars invited to Rome to pursue their creative goals in an atmosphere conducive to artistic innovation and progressive scholarship.  Awarded for research and design project entitled "Hackable Infrastructures : Inhabiting the Margins of Contemporary Rome".


One Prize    
Awarded to Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller / AGENCY Architecture LLC
AGENCY's proposal for a new brand of coastal ecological infrastructure, entitled Super Levee Urban Farm, was selected as one of two co-winners, from a field of 202 teams from over 20 countries.The competition, sponsored by Terreform 1, called for technical, urbanistic, and architectural strategies not simply for the food production required to feed the cities and suburbs, but the possibilities of diet, agriculture, and retrofitted facilities that could achieve that level within the constraints of the local climate and conditions.   

NYFA Artists Fellowship 2010     
Awarded to Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller
Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller are 2010 Fellows in Architecture / Environmental Structures from the New York Foundation for the Arts.

MacDowell Colony Fellows in Residence       
Awarded to Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller

Recipient of highly selective fellowship, for “creative individuals to produce works of enduring imagination.”  For proposal entitled “Informal Urbanisms”, an architectural research text and design proposal investigating the ability of marginalized populations to transform apparently overwhelming disadvantage into novel forms of urban culture.

White House Redux           
Design for a real-time interactive national monument and urban event space entitled “Terminal Paroxysm”. Entry placed 14th out of more than 500 entries in popular vote in an international ideas competition for a new White House.(Control Group, Storefront for Art and Architecture)

Saint Louis Follies Ideas Competition, Honorable Mention 
      
Proposal for Saint Louis Gateway Forum, entitled Inhabited Displacement , for progressively inhabited infrastructural framework, urban programming, and interactive, networked media design.  
William Kinne Travel Fellowship       
       
Awarded to Ersela Kripa and Stephen Mueller

Traveling fellowship for independent research of architectural, artistic, and urban development strategies in developing countries. Research text and graphic analysis entitled Reading Backwards : An Architectural Interrogation of Political History in Tirana.
